Resin with inclusions!

Resin with inclusions inside is one of the most populart resin art creations in recent years! Today i am not gonna talk about resin art processing from the material structure,that's some deep chemical issues,i just want to share some experiences of resin casting.

Material Difference we use in Resin casting:

1. Epoxy polyester resin

2. Unsaturated Polyester Resin(URP)

What's the differences of applications in resin art casting?

usually we use Epoxy resin for Transparent colored object,especially for those with high transparency request sculptures,whereas the object still need color covered,An object's transparency is characterized by its light transmission properties, whereas its color is given by its reflectance properties.

while URP is mostly used for solid colored objects,and the material is cheaper of course!

What problems you may encounter during resin castings?

There are few mainly troubles you probably will face during your casting,but dont worry,these problems are very common,everyone dont like them but you do will meet them.

• The interior air bubbles
  
• The interior crack
  
• The exterior indentations
  
  

Why are those problems occured? how we solve these problems correctly.

• The air do get into the resin mixture(you need to put the Accelerant and Hardener together with the liquid resin and stir and mix them evenly.) and there are air in those corners in the molds as well,what we need to do is put the mixture(or together with the mold) in to a Vacuum box,and press those air out of the mixture before solidation.
  
• Due to the uneven heat spread inside the resin,the Internal stress occured,especially for those object with unflat and curved surfaces,the interior cracks happen oftenly.what should we do? we should adjust the proportion of accelerant and hardener to resin,and slower down the speed of concretion,relieving the internal stress gentally.
  
  

Which material(physical objects) can be put as inclusions inside resin?

In our experiences,materials that can put in a casting resin must be able to endure the high heat temperature of resin casting(usually considered approx between 175°F/30°C to 210°F/100°C),that's a pretty high temperature as you can imagine the boiling water.you can feel the heat when you are closing to the the casting mold.so the object you want to put inside resin must can bear that temperature without melted or deformed.
